Meet Katesha

Your Experienced Advocate for District 5

I’m Katesha Breland, a proud native of Charleston and a resident of District 5. With over 25 years in real estate and a history of leadership in our community, I’m committed to serving the residents of District 5 with integrity, experience, and a focus on building a better future for all.
I am Not Just A Candidate:
I’m not just a candidate, I’m your neighbor. I’ve worked as a real estate broker, helping families and businesses thrive in our community. My experience goes beyond transactions; it’s about understanding the needs of the people, navigating complex situations, and finding solutions that benefit everyone. My commitment to the real estate industry is reflected in my past role as President of the Charleston Trident Association of Realtors (CTAR), President of the SC Residential Real Estate Council (RRC) Chair of SC Realtors Legal Action Committee and my ongoing service as a trusted CTAR member. I’m also an alumnus of Leadership South Carolina and the Charleston Metro Chamber Civic Leadership Academy, experiences that have further honed my leadership skills and deepened my understanding of our region’s challenges and opportunities.
Strong Educational Foundation:
My commitment to knowledge and growth is evident in my educational background. After raising my two daughters, I returned to college to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Claflin University, and a Master of Real Estate Development from Clemson University. This combination of business acumen and specialized real estate knowledge equips me with the tools to tackle the complex issues facing North Charleston.
Dedicated Community Advocate:
Beyond my professional life, I’m deeply committed to serving our community. I’m a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and the Junior League of Charleston, organizations that embody the values of service and empowerment. These experiences have reinforced my belief in the importance of giving back and working collaboratively to create positive change.
Skilled Problem-Solver:
As a Certified Mediator, I’m skilled in bringing people together and finding common ground. I understand the importance of listening, understanding diverse perspectives, and working towards solutions that address the needs of all stakeholders.
